The Educational Trust legacy of John Norman for his descendants

Annual General Meeting 2017

Our Committee meeting was held in Old Catton Village Hall on Thursday evening at 7pm (2nd November). The Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held an hour later, at 8pm. At the AGM, our Chair for the last 15 Years (Jenny Chamberlin), decided to stand down. With no successor in the wings, this means that at present, the unity does not have a Chair. All duties will be handled at present by our Vice-Chair (Andy Watson) until the election of a new Chair sometime in the future.

Here are 2 articles that were found by Manda Cockburn (Unity Secretary) in the Unity’s Old Register, that she thought would be of interest to descendants.

  1. It was great to meet Ashley Connor who spoke of how he was able to attend University due to receipt of a Norman grant……..ultimately attending Anglia Ruskin University 2014-2017 and obtaining a BA with Honours in English Language and English Language teaching.
He told us he wished to travel in Japan to teach English there. We wish him well, and hopefully he will bring his skills back to Norfolk one day.
